A Farewell Prayer

A Farewell Prayer:

Gracious Father
We pray to you for your Holy Spirit Catholic church.
Fill it with your truth, so there will be no more lies.
Keep it in your peace, so all are again welcomed.
Where it is corrupt, open the eyes of the faithful to reform it.
Where it is in error, give it the strength to admit and correct.
Where it is correct, let us all loudly proclaim.
Where it is in want, grant us the means to provide.
Where it is divided, reunite us with love and understanding;
for the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ.

To the following anonymous comment on 9/23:

“Jesus said that the gates of hell would not prevail. You have all been decieved by the three that quit. They tried to get their agenda in at St Johns too. Worshiping (Mother earth) instead of God. So all of you that think the three are so great just follow them and you will find out that the only 3 you should follow are the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

Are you insinuating that Ann, Chayo or Martha worship Mother Earth instead of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit?

You are both sick and blind! I will pray for you!

Dear Anonymous of 9/23:
You remind us that Jesus said the gates of hell will not prevail, and in that we take solace. But that is the only thing in your post that is right. The 3 deceived us? Worshiping Mother Earth? Get agenda to St. John's? Someone is deceiving you! Don't believe everything you hear about us. Look me up at Holy Spirit Parish and we will talk. And give your name next time; there is nothing to fear.

Isn’t it refreshing to know that four women with very limited resources could so totally disclaim a bishop of the Catholic Church?
They had no money, no political power, no experts to advise them, no Cannon Law to hide behind and speaking up against this injustice got them all fired.
It was their strong belief in truth, the support of their friends and an undying belief in His teachings that enabled them to so vividly expose the moral integrity of a Catholic Bishop. Praise God some among us still have those kind of convictions!

To Mother Earth Anonymous - Should we say welcome back Toshie and Lois, we missed you. Sounds like you are a fellow Mother Earth Magazine reader. Isn't this rain great? By the way, this is a wonderful time to get that fall garden ready and those vegetables in the ground. Don't forget the compost! Happy planting...

I hope the readings of this Sunday, September 24 from the letter of James will help us reflect on the sad events that brought our beloved Holy Spirit parish to the point where it stands now, broken and divided. Very appropriate also for this moment in our nation when an immoral war rages and the suffering of thousands of innocent people seem to have no end.

"Where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every foul practice. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without inconstancy or insincerity. And the harvest of justice is sown in peace for those who cultivate peace."

May we learn that is only trough works of justice, mercy, and love that we can achieve peace; not trough abuse of power, oppression of the powerless, selfishness, jealousy, and disdain for the truth.
